2020 Presidential Election

U.S. federal elections are conceptual rehashings and contemporary rematches of their 19th century Civil War. The battle includes its marginalized citizens as co-workers & assistants to the dominant ideologues' aims and aspirations. That is to say, the Civil Wars are fought for the right to exact power permiscuously and amass financial wealth for elites with little to no regulations or regard for the fundamental civic and human freedoms of the marginalized. Of course "some" socioeconomic gains will be had, but the outcome is asymmetrical and lacks sincere equity.

To be clear, we are living on a US continuum of white supremacy, classism, avaricious capitalism, racism, xenophobia, sexism, anti-homosexual attitudes/policies, anti-immigration for non-whites, etc. We need not qualify the profundity or depth of these evils in our lifetime in order to resist and ameliorate their impact, if not their presence altogether. My early adult life was under the oppressive Regan regime and I viewed his immoral policies and blatant bigotry as omens of the eternal demise of a progressive and equitable democracy. Regan ruled for 8 devastating years of exemplary moral depravity. I soon realized that it is through the electoral political process that we are given a view into the hearts and souls of a highly polarized and contemptible democracy. Yes, the disproportionate advocacy for this president we see is par for the course, not a new course.
